The mobile Surveyllance System is a multipurpose surveillance utility that can be installed with customizable features to monitor and report events at a remote an-manned site kilometers away, feeding the data to a control room for evaluation and analysis and take action as needed within the design parameters of the system. It consists of a mobile monitoring pod, a dispatch unit typically installed in a control room, and, if needed, one or multiple signal repeaters to extend the range of operation.
For example, if deployed as an alarm system in an opencast mining application, it provides a warning of impending wall collapse to allow
evacuation of dangerous areas in opencast mining environments. It
operates with radio signals that allow communication between the pod unit in the pit and a control room, via line-of-site repeaters as needed. The pos itself can contain action devices such as sounders, traffic lights, strobe lights and cameras, that can all be activated remotely from the dispatch unit in the control room many kilometers away
